Description
Summary:Abstract Using real time data warehouse operation was transformed into the simulation model for the Reckitt- Benckiser Healthcare International Ltd. at Nottingham, UK to test whether the newly acquire push-back rack storage would offer sufficient space for the next two years and to find the best way to handle finished goods having a unique batch number and great variety of despatch destinations. The model also enables to evaluate possible despatch operation system elements such as the dock utilization and labours scheduling problems, moreover it allows estimating the costs incurred when the new storage does not have sufficient space for all FG. From this followed whether the push back rack storage fits the healthcare manufacturing business case and how it contributes to business despatch operation improvement.
