Summary:This research aims in examining strength and weaknesses of developing sustainability tourism in Dhofar; the southern region of Sultanate of Oman. Part one offers the groundwork for the thesis and dissertation; find a research problems and gaps; construct theoretical framework base for the analysis; provide brief description of methodology used and chapter organization. Part two section conducts a comprehensive critique of the literature that conceptualised sustainability foundation and tourism impacts on environment and culture. It also investigates the need for sustainability planning and community participation. The next part starts focusing on the area of study and detailing the methodology scope, design, sampling, and limitations. Part four follows the process of implementing the research plan, presenting, summarizing, and discussing the results; and preparing the dissertation for discussion and implications. Part five produces critical discussion of the findings and links it to the literature review and theoretical framework assigned. The dissertation ends by offering short / long-term recommendations and further studies suggestion.
