تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن مستوى جودة الترجمة من اللغة الإنجليزية إلى اللغة العربية في المركز القومي للترجمة في القاهرة لكتاب (ثمانية من مؤرخي المركزية الأوروبية) لبلاوت والذي أشرف عليه مجموعةٌ من المتخصصين في مجال الترجمة. حاول الباحثان أن يبرزا أهم الأخطاء والهفوات والسقوطات التي وقعت في ترجمته والتي أدّت إلى التقليل من مستوى جودة ترجمته، وقد صنف الباحثان هذه الأخطاء إلى صنفين: أخطاء ترجمية وأخطاء لغوية؛ وذلك بناء على المنهجية المتبعة في إخراج هذا الكتاب فالكتاب قد أُخضِع للمراجعة والتصحيح اللغوي، وتستنتج الدراسة بأن بعض مشاريع الترجمة إلى العربية ما زال يعاني من مشكلة جودة الترجمة رغم ما قد تم وضعه من استراتيجية من الإشراف من المتخصصين إذ كان من المفروض على القائمين بهذا المشروع الترجمي أن يخرجوا لنا ترجمة متقَنة وخالية من الأخطاء والسقوطات.

Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the quality of translation from English to Arabic at the National Center for Translation in Cairo for a book (Eight Eurocentric historians) by Blaut which was supervised by group of translation specialists. The two researchers attempted to highlight the most important errors, lapses and deficiencies that occurred in his translation, which have hurt the quality of translation, and the two researchers classified these errors into two categories: translation and linguistic errors; based on the methodology used in the production of this book, the book has been subject to revision and linguistic correction. The study concludes that some Arabic translation projects are still having quality problem although that they claimed to have the stategy of appointing experts to look into the translation but they still fail to produce an accurate translation free of errors and deficiencies.
