Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) is vital in ensuring an immediate action could be taken during emergencies. The employer must ensure EPRP available in their workplace, specifically in the zone with highly risk of spills and explosion of chemical, biological and radiological. Whereas, the employee should be educated about the plan and have access to it during emergencies. This early action could reduce morbidity and mortality rate cases in their workplace. Within time given, this presentation will briefly explain the terminology of emergency and emergency management and the legal provision and standards by Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), including several other guidelines. It then followed by recognising potential hazards and risks in the workplace, how to prepare the EPRP, the incident command system, who are the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the evacuation procedure. By attending this presentation, the participants would be able to acknowledge the important of EPRP and later on to respond appropriately during emergencies in their workplace. |
