description Despite a general world interest in the relationship between women, peace, and Islam, few books have been dedicated to Muslim women who aspire to change the world for the betterment of Muslim women who organized and mobilized in the pursuit of peace. Their engagement is persistent and profound. Most Muslim Women understand the essence of the Islamic paradigm, the concept of tawhid, the Oneness of God, and believe that Allah (SWT) created human beings (men and women) to worship and serve Him as khalifahs, vicegerents of Allah (SWT). Their perspective and potential contributions are left untapped which tantamount to silencing their voices in the pursuit of sustained peace and prosperity. This study examines the role played by Muslim women in promoting sustainable peace as required in Islam.
