description This paper shall firstly presents the nanotechnology research, investment, education, etc. in the developed countries such as North America, European Union, Japan, etc. Then, the present activities and future action plan for Malaysian nanotechnology were compared. This was done as Malaysia is a fast developing country with its promising vision of 2020. The position of Malaysia in nanotechnology was also compared with several Asian countries such as China, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand as to be competitive in the region. The main emphasize was the introduction of nanotechnology teaching for the undergraduate science and engineering students who will lead the upcoming nanotechnology society in the near future. Recommendations were made for the undergraduate and high school curriculum to suit for nanotechnology.
