Description
Summary:In response to increasing HIV notifications in Western Australia among people born overseas, this study used participatory action research methodology involving six community researchers to co-design an intervention with and for Indonesian women in Perth. Drawing on health promotion approaches recognising the socio-ecological contexts of HIV risk, a conceptual model was developed for a community-led action group. The outcome, the Srikandi Women’s Action Network (SWAN), offers a mechanism to deliver culturally-tailored HIV interventions.
