| Summary: | The universal pattern of increased individualism and changes in prosocial behaviour requires further explanation from different sociocultural contexts. Taking the cultural dynamics perspectives, the three studies found that, first, prosocial behaviour has been studied with different focus and conceptualisation. Second, the way people understand and practise prosocial behaviour reflects cultural and generational differences. Third, it was found that intergenerational transmission of prosociality in Indonesian societies was facilitated by zeitgeist values. |
