| Summary: | The thesis focused on intrahousehold decision-making process and its wellbeing outcomes in Sarawak, Malaysia. Using mixed methods, this study reveals the nature of intrahousehold decision-making processes, provide insights to the intrahousehold distribution of income and assets, and show how such processes and distributions can interact to affect the wellbeing of women. The findings suggest a continuing influence of traditional gender norms on intrahousehold decision-making in Sarawak as households transition from traditional to more ‘modern’ forms. |
