description A scoping review indicated the need for theory-driven interventions to address type 1 diabetes-specific barriers to physical activity, specifically fear of hypoglycaemia. Meta-inferences from a two-phase, explanatory sequential mixed methods study concluded that an intervention (Type 1 TACTICS for Exercise©) and the study methods used to evaluate it were feasible and acceptable, and revealed positive preliminary effects in favour of the intervention in reducing fear of hypoglycaemia as a barrier to physical activity.
