Description
Summary:In this thesis, acoustics measurement is used to estimate the wettability of the formation rock. The wettability effect on the wave propagation in the saturated porous media is studied by applying the slip boundary condition (SBC), which plays an important role in the wave-induced-fluid-flow (WIFF). The wettability dependent wave velocity and attenuation are studied theoretically and experimentally. A practical method is developed to estimate the wettability of the formation rock by the acoustics measurement.
