Properties of Ambient Cured Alkali Activated Composites Using Waste Glass as a Partial Precursor and Fine Aggregate

This thesis investigated the feasibility of using waste glass as a partial precursor and fine aggregate in alkali activated composites (AAC). Test results showed that the use of 10%-20% waste glass powder with fly ash improved the properties of AAC. Besides, glass cullet could be used to replace up...

description This thesis investigated the feasibility of using waste glass as a partial precursor and fine aggregate in alkali activated composites (AAC). Test results showed that the use of 10%-20% waste glass powder with fly ash improved the properties of AAC. Besides, glass cullet could be used to replace up to 100% natural sand in AAC to achieve acceptable performance. Therefore, the reuse of waste glass is considered a promising option helping conservation of natural resources.
