Summary:This study was conducted to evaluate the rates and patterns of admission for acute coronary syndromes across Western Australia, the associated treatment pathways for metropolitan and rural patients and outcomes, including readmission for acute coronary syndrome and heart failure and in-hospital and post-discharge mortality. This research, using linked administrative health data and a cardiology department cardiac registry, highlighted the significant burden on morbidity and mortality of acute coronary syndrome in Western Australia.
