Description
Summary:Kafirin purification process was developed to accommodate both sorghum grain and DDGS with “Quality by Design” (QbD) based approach that assures consistent product quality and facilitate scale-up to commercial scale and technology transfer. Purified kafirin was paired with different plasticizers to develop a screening platform. Kafirin-based biomaterials such as an enteric coat for pharmaceutical drugs, food-grade spray coat to increase shelf life of food materials, films and microparticles were developed and tested.
