description The aim of the study was to provide an evidence base about antibiotic use in the general population in Nepal. A mixed methods design was adopted, with data collected across public and private health facilities, and from households and policy makers. Inappropriate use of antibiotics was found to be influenced by demand and supply factors, and a weak regulatory environment. Findings support the adoption of a multifaceted approach combining different strategies to combat inappropriate use.
