description This thesis investigates the impact of Cu(II) in drinking waters on the oxidants decay and disinfection by-products formation during chloramination of bromide-containing waters. A new analytical method allowing the quantification of the different halamines for the first time using Membrane Introduction Mass Spectrometry was developed. Cu(II) can significantly enhance the decomposition of brominated-amines thereby reducing the stability of the disinfectant residual. The impact of Cu(II) on DBPs formation varied depending on the organic material.
