| Summary: | This research has investigated novel vibration condition monitoring methods for horizontal-axis wind turbines for a range of case studies simulating various failure modes of the blades and tower, including the effect of coupling of rotating and non-rotating components of the system. A small scale experimental test rig has been created and developed to monitor vibration behaviour under different transient loads as a function of rotor phase, including the measurement of blade, driveshaft, and tower vibrations. |
