description Construct is a fourteen-piece capsule collection that examines the relationship that exists between the designer, artisan, wearer and garment. The abstract graphics are derived from patterns of weaving and construction – connecting the wearer to the garment and its origin. Intricate embroidery and appliqué designs represent the history and fabric of each garment and the memories of making. This collection was produced under Bhalo, a fashion label that worked with fair trade organisations in rural Bangladesh to create limited edition garments using hand woven fabrics, printing & embroidery. Construct was exhibited at the Designer Installation Runway at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2014, and as part of a Makeshift shopfront installation at Fi & Co, Northbridge WA for Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2014.
