Feasibility of Using Regional Seismic Reflections Surveys to Discover Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) Deposits in the Gawler Craton, South Australia

| Summary: | "The seismic reflection method should find IOCG mineral deposits because of the relatively high density and hardness of these deposits compared to the host rocks. By simulating surveys with acoustic modelling and comparing the simulations to real data the thesis shows this to be true. The simulations and further inspection of existing data over known deposits indicate that most IOCG deposits can be detected by looking for the seismic signature of intrusions along prospective structures.
