Description
Summary:© Near Surface Geoscience Conference & Exhibition 2018. All rights reserved. The study presents novel data on the potential geological hazards on the shelf of the Sea of Okhotsk. The near-surface characterization is mainly based on the analysis of the conventional 3D seismic dataset (5-100 Hz). The special processing of the 3D data and the amplitude-based approach to the interpretation (AVO-analysis, seismic inversion) allows us to evaluate geohazards at different scales over a wide range of depths from the first meters to nearly 1 km from the sea bottom. The main types of the potential geohazards in the area are the gas-bearing sediments, zones of a focused fluid discharge, intervals with abnormal pore pressure and faults.
