description A two-chamber Microbial Electrolysis Cell (MEC) has been studied to investigate the organicremoval efficiency and to improve the performance. The test result shows the impact ofvarious concentrations of microorganisms in anode on COD removal in the anode as well asthe significant effect of temperature for higher performance. Also, the idea of air-cathodereactor has been extracted from the MEC concept to simultaneously supress sulphideproduction in pipe lines and preventing corrosion.
