| Summary: | The objective of this study was to progress the development of an adsorption process based on silver-impregnated activated carbon (SIAC) for the selective removal of bromide from drinking water. New approaches were described for a better understanding of the mechanisms of silver leaching from SIAC and for bromide removal, as well as on the role of natural organic matter. Cost effective removal of bromide would provide significant benefits for consumers of marginal quality source waters. |
