| Summary: | This Grounded Theory study aimed to investigate the role of job and profession satisfaction in the turnover intentions of former and current educators. Results revealed that dissatisfaction with features of the job and profession are co-determinants in educators’ intention to leave the profession. Multiple factors, notably contextual influences, contribute to pronounced work demands, prolonged stress and dissatisfaction. These findings have multiple implications for stemming the flow of educators from the profession. |
