Description
Summary:Electrical properties of rocks are important parameters for well-log and reservoir interpretation. However, laboratory measurements are time-consuming and difficult. I develop here a comprehensive and robust methodology to compute the electrical formation factor from digital images obtained by X-ray tomography, for clean and shaly sands. Key points of this study are finite size effects of the cubes used for computation, and comparison of trends (and not individual data) formed by laboratory-measured and computed properties.
