| Summary: | The research begins by identifying that there is an unacceptably high level of injury and disease in Australian workplaces. A premature death or injury, however well compensated, is not only an economic loss to society; more importantly, it is a major personal tragedy for the deceased’s family, friends and work colleagues. These factors culminate into a powerful moral and economic business case for safer workplaces and work practices.
