| Summary: | Effects of reduction temperature on the performance of nickel catalyst for CO methanation in a slurry-bed reactor was studied. The catalysts of nickel-based on silica support were reduced for 4 hours at the temperature of 400°C, 500°C and 600°C, respectively. All the catalysts were characterized using the N 2 physisorption analyser, XRD and H 2 -TPR before experiments and were then used for the CO methanation in the integral slurry-bed reactor at the temperature of 300°C. The results indicate that the catalyst reduced at 400°C showed the lowest catalytic activity because the active component NiO was not reduced completely even reduced for 12 hours. The catalyst reduced at temperature of 500°C showed a very high catalytic activity, and the yield of CH 4 could reach ~92%. The catalyst reduced at 600°C had a higher activity than that reduced at 400°C, but slightly worse than the performance of catalyst reduced at 500 °C. |
