Description
Summary:This research demonstrated through technical evaluation and testing, that there is an optimum filament winding fabrication method for a composite material which will not compromise the material strength properties, when embedding electronic sensors within drill pipes manufactured from composite materials. A unique design and material selection analysis followed by this optimum fabrication process, allows the future development of ‘smart’ composite drill pipes.
