Description
Summary:This project has investigated the susceptibility of offshore construction steels to microbiologically influenced corrosion in seawater, elucidating the effects of temperature, oxygen pressure, exposure time and alloy material composition on biological activity and the corrosion resistance of the selected materials in seawater. Results from this research form the foundations of essential guidelines for design criteria, risk assessment and asset integrity management based on materials selection and preservation treatments in the application to subsea equipment.
