Description
Summary:Geopolymers are versatile materials, often made with ash from coal Power Stations. Applications include low green-house-gas emission cement, fireproof barriers and many more. This thesis furthered the understanding of geopolymer formulation by: • Demonstrating novel methods for mixture design and determining the degree of reaction during and after curing. • Analysing the role of formulation on cost and green-house-gas emission. • Developing a new material that can be used for structural neutron shielding.
