Description
Summary:Louise evaluated the utility of risk score models for predicting cardiovascular mortality in Australian women. She found that most risk models do not diagnose “at risk” women well. Currently published predicted risk levels used for screening and recommending treatment are ineffective. Lower treatment thresholds are recommended. Central obesity and ethnicity have been identified for inclusion in future models. Her study has important implications for improving the accuracy of identifying “at risk” women for preventive treatment.
