Access is location-indendent but very much located, whilst being ‘always online’ reconfigures ideas of identity, place, and community. Emphasising lived, embodied experience as the site of identity formation, this study investigates online communities in Perth, WA. This isolated city provides the backdrop for exploring Internet-based expressions of self as a way of negotiating everyday life in an increasingly networked world. |
