Description
Summary:Wind resource assessment normally involves collecting wind data using meteorological masts or executing numerical meteorological models. This data is then analysed using industry standard software (WAsP) to generate a Windfield map used for wind farm planning and construction. Until recently, there was no methodology to validate this Windfield map due to insufficient observational data. This shortcoming has been addressed in this study using high spatial resolution wind observations from Doppler LIDAR.
