Description
Summary:This thesis presents the design, construction and performance of a specialised, low noise, compact radiometric receiver optimised for Epoch of Reionisation experiments. This project developed an optimum radiometer configuration to achieve resolution and calibration stability below 100 mK including total power, noise adding, comparison switched or hybrid mode configuration. The results showed that the receiver should achieve under 100 mK resolution for a 9 day of observation once integrated into an experimental EoR system.
