Summary:This thesis was underpinned by the interpretive-constructivist paradigm utilizing a Fourth Generation Evaluation methodology. The purpose of the research was to examine conflicting rationales for the implementation of technology education and Education for Enterprise, and to evaluate a professional development project. The professional development project was established to facilitate teachers’ incorporation of Education for Enterprise and community partnerships within technology education. The study involved teachers from 16 schools clustered in three regions of New Zealand
