Terdapat juga kajian yang cuba menerokai sama ada pelajar bahasa yang berprestasi cemerlang menggunakan SPB dengan kerap dan dalam jumlah yang banyak (Green & Oxford 1995). Oleh itu, kertas ini memerihalkan satu kajian yang direka bentuk untuk melihat hubungan penggunaan SPB dengan tahap penguasaan bahasa Arab. Data kajian dikumpul dengan menggunakan soal selidik kendiri yang diubahsuai daripada Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (Oxford 1990) versi 7.0 dengan tambahan satu konstruk baru. Subjek kajian terdiri daripada 460 orang pelajar tingkatan empat daripada sepuluh buah sekolah menengah agama Terengganu (SMAT) dan tiga buah sekolah menengah Imtiaz di Terengganu. Ujian statistik inferensi MANOVA (aras signifikan p < 0.05) dan ANOVA (aras signifikan p < 0.01) dijalankan ke atas data soal selidik bagi menentukan hubungan antara penguasaan bahasa dengan penggunaan SPB. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa pelajar cemerlang bahasa menggunakan lebih banyak strategi secara kerap berbanding pelajar sederhana dan lemah dalam ketujuh-tujuh konstruk.
