These two religions wear turbans as a practice that has its own purpose and philosophy. In Sikhism, wearing a turban or dastar, in the Punjab language, is compulsory and must be executed to prove their compliance and confidence in the teachings of Gurus and the scripture. Meanwhile in Islam, the turban is a clothing of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w and Muslims are encouraged to wear it. In general there are similarities between turban and dastar, but they differ in application, form, size and color. The objective of this study is to share information with our pluralistic society in Malaysia on the issue of wearing the turban in the Muslim and Sikh communities. This information, it is hoped, will create tolerance and cooperation, regardless of race and religion in society to promote the concept of 1 Malaysia. In this study, document analysis method was used to obtain information about the turban and dastar through the books of hadith and references related to the Sikh religion.
