Entrepreneurship is perceived as a means for students to supplement their income throughout their education journey. Nevertheless, many studies showed that these university entrepreneurial activities encounter limitations, particularly concerning business capital constraints and facilities. Consequently, this study aims to explore the potential of Islamic crowdfunding in empowering student entrepreneurship programs in Malaysia. In contemporary contexts, digital crowdfunding is recognized as a modern financial instrument particularly utilized to secure funds through online platforms. The current application of this fundraising technique is pitched toward supporting business activities and community-based projects. Therefore, this concept is studied for its potential to support student entrepreneurship programs that work toward alternative income. This study conducted semi-structured interviews with fifteen related experts. Employing qualitative research methodology, the study focuses on garnering insights from experts into crowdfunding, entrepreneurship, university student affairs, and Shariah. For data analysis, this study implemented thematic analysis to present the findings. Finally, some aspects of the findings are discussed before proposing suitable crowdfunding models to empower student entrepreneurs in Malaysia. This study found that crowdfunding can be an alternative fund for business activities and community-based projects. In addition, this trend is currently rising in Malaysia. Secondly, with the support of potential funders and ideal projects, both enhance the crowdfunding applicability to empower student entrepreneurs. Crowdfunding is agreed to be a practical instrument for empowering student entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Based on the findings and discussion, a crowdfunding model employing two Islamic instruments is proposed. Firstly, a Waqf-based crowdfunding model for providing conducive student entrepreneur facilities. Second, the Infaq-Hibah crowdfunding instrument is formulated to support studentpreneurs' initial capital and training. On top of this model, the study suggests proper guidance and supervision to mitigate the risk of crowdfunding project failure. The findings of this study are significant for various stakeholders, including students, entrepreneurs, crowdfunding platforms, universities, and society. The proposed model is an Islamic crowdfunding to empower student entrepreneurs with the values of sustainability, business empowerment, and community engagement. At the same time, this study contributes to enriching the current literature on crowdfunding and student entrepreneurship. uuid:F30D3CE9-1782-40BB-8A7B-EC701D5702BE EXPLORING A MODEL FOR STUDENT ENTREPRENEURS IN MALAYSIA AN ISLAMIC CROWDFUNDING MODEL (MASTER_2025).pdf
