The most crucial agent that affects childhood development is the parents. Hence, their roles are important, especially their motivational beliefs and involvement in promoting their children’s moral values. In addition, the rapid changes in technology globally have made most parents anxious about the development of their children, especially in moral and ethical aspects. Therefore, this study aims to measure the levels of parents’ motivational beliefs, parental involvement, and the promotion of Muslim children’s moral values. It also aims to determine the effects of parents’ motivational beliefs and involvement on promoting Muslim children’s moral values in Southern Thailand. This study employed quantitative research with a survey research design. The respondents comprised 413 parents of Muslim children in Southern Thailand who were randomly selected. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. In analysing the obtained data, the researcher used the technique of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) software. The study found that all the constructs for each variable were at a high level. Parents’ motivational beliefs regarding the constructs of religiosity, sense of efficacy, and role construction among parents of Muslim children in Southern Thailand were at a high level. Moreover, the findings for parental involvement comprised the constructs of parenting, communication, volunteering, learning at home, decision-making, and collaborating with the community among parents of Muslim children in Southern Thailand also showed the level of practices conducted by parents at a high level. The results for promoting moral values included the constructs of economy, honesty, politeness, cleanliness, and concordance among parents of Muslim children in Southern Thailand, which were also at a high level. In hypothesis testing, the findings of the inferential analysis showed that all the constructs of parents’ motivational beliefs and parental involvement have positive and significant effects on the construct of promoting the moral values of their children. This study provides theoretical and practical implications on the significance of parents’ motivational beliefs and active involvement in promoting their Muslim children’s moral values holistically. The role of Islamic centres and educational institutions is vital as a supporting system to motivate parents consistently in promoting moral values among Muslim children, especially in minority Muslim countries like Thailand. uuid:1C9D24F0-6FE9-460A-AFC9-2A4BCB6FEC11 THE EFFECTS OF PARENTS’ MOTIVATIONAL BELIEFS AND INVOLVEMENT ON THE PROMOTION OF MORAL VALUES OF MUSLIM CHILDRE IN SOUTHERN THAILAND (PHD_2024).pdf Thesis
