Jordan's involvement in the World Trade Organization (WTO) has imposed severe competition on Jordanian pharmaceutical companies in terms of technology and high employee skills. As a result, some local pharmaceutical companies went out of the market, causing problems for citizens who depended on local medicines that were suitable for their needs. Therefore, pharmaceutical facilities need to take imperative steps to reduce deficiencies in the medicines industry to avoid negative impacts. Hence, this study aimed to determine the effect of the European Foundation for Quality Management’s (EFQM) Enablers on competitive advantages in Jordanian pharmaceutical companies. The primary objective of the research is to investigate the significant effect of EFQM enablers on Jordanian pharmaceutical companies to gain competitive advantages, with the moderating role of work experience. The independent variable of the research is EFQM enablers, the dependent variable is competitive advantage, and the moderating variable is work experience. This study used a quantitative method to collect data according to the study objectives. Questionnaires were distributed among top and middle management at all Jordanian pharmaceutical companies using a simple random sampling method. Using G-Power in determining sample size, the suitable sample size was 146 from the total of 246 target population; however, 200 respondents were selected to increase the response rate. The study used Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) to examine and scrutinize all necessary parameters for Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Lastly, the study evaluated the moderating effects of work experience between leadership and competitive advantage. After the attainment of all the required values, the study went through the measurement model. The results of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were examined for construct validity and reliability. Consequently, the SEM found that each of the quality management constructs—leadership, people, strategy, partnership and resources, and process—has a significant positive effect on competitive advantages among pharmaceutical companies in Jordan. Moreover, work experience also moderated the effect between leadership and competitive advantage. This study is useful to the pharmaceutical industry administered by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and to the body of knowledge, in identifying problems and improving organizational performance by utilizing the effectiveness of EFQM’s Enablers. Finally, in terms of future research, other factors that affect this sector should be highlighted to reach excellence. 2024-10-25 14:58 uuid:80D4CA81-D3F5-4767-A78B-02B1AC912DA9 16849_db00da9b152a995.pdf Pharmaceutical Companies EFQM Enablers Total Quality Management (TQM) Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) Pharmaceutical Industry Pharmaceutical industry — Jordan — Management Total quality management — Jordan Industrial management — Quality control Pharmaceutical industry— Quality control Organizational effectiveness — Jordan Thesis
