Psychological issues, social factors, and the diversity of Indonesian society contribute to this issue. Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, is an area that has recorded a high prevalence of mental disorders. The challenging living conditions and lack of decent employment opportunities have negatively impacted the mental health of the population. Furthermore, stigma related to mental health and limited access to health services further complicate this situation. Although stakeholders have intervened to improve people's mental health through psychosocial support, research on their role and effectiveness remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to explore the psychosocial support strategies employed by stakeholders to address mental health issues in the local community of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Methodology: This research used qualitative methods involving in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and documentation as instruments to collect data. Ten participants from three different departments participated in the study, namely the Health Department of Mataram, the Social Department, and the Public Health Department. Data were analysed thematically with the assistance of ATLAS.ti software. Results: The findings identified three major themes: (1) Stakeholders' role in providing psychosocial support: prevention of mental health issues at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels (2) Challenges: human resource limitations, lack of family and community support, and local community perceptions of mental disorders and mental health services (3) Strategies: increasing community understanding, strengthening family support and community engagement, and optimizing human resources. Conclusion: These findings offer valuable insights for stakeholders involved in developing and improving psychosocial support services for mental health issues. Additionally, they provide a foundation for future research to explore psychosocial support within specific contexts and develop more effective intervention strategies for individuals facing mental health challenges. 2024-10-20 18:28 uuid:74ca374f-d90c-4b7e-b86b-4cd75fd9a699 EXPLORING STAKEHOLDERS’ PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT STRATEGIES IN ADDRESSING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES IN MATARAM, WEST NUSA TENGGARA, INDONESIA (MASTER_2024).pdf Mental Health Issues Psychosocial Support Community Mental Health Qualitative Research Stigma and Mental Illness Mataram West Nusa Tenggara Mental health — Indonesia — Mataram Community mental health services — Indonesia Mental illness — Social aspects — Indonesia Mental health services — Indonesia Thesis |
