The fundamental subjects of Islamic ethics are totally absence in the existing content of social sciences curriculum in the Nigerian universities. Thus, this study aims to identify the weaknesses in the existing curriculum of social sciences in the universities of Northern Nigeria. It also explores the need for fundamental subjects of Islamic ethics in the social sciences curriculum for these universities and proposes the integrated content of social sciences curriculum as a model for the universities in Northern Nigeria. This descriptive study applied qualitative method using documentary analysis and written interview. The document analysis involved two official federal documents for Nigeria university educational policy while the written interview involved 35 informants among curriculum managers and practitioners in the universities of Northern Nigeria. The findings of the study reveal that the existing curriculum of social sciences in the Northern Nigeria universities is secular as it contains no single component of fundamental Islamic ethics subjects. These findings indicate the need for fundamental Islamic ethics subjects because the professionals produced by the current secular type curriculum are incomplete professional and abusive to culture and religious values ignorantly. Therefore, this study suggests a newly constructed integrated curriculum model of social sciences as a solution to these universities in Northern Nigeria. The integration of Islamic ethics into social sciences curriculum is expected to promote the holistic intellectual growth and the development of Khayra Ummah spirit as guided in the Holy Qur’an among the university students especially in the Muslim community of Northern Nigeria.
