However, most cases of drug abuse in Malaysia are among the youth. The impact of this situation would impede the positive contribution of youth to the community and society. Numerous study has been conducted to determine the factors that would reduce drug-abuse behaviours among youths. Previous research discovered that there exist inter-relationships among social support, life satisfaction, delinquency and drug abuse behaviour. However, relationships among these constructs were not examined simultaneously in a single model. Thus, the main aim of the study is to examine the relationships of these constructs in a single model simultaneously. Specifically, this study was conducted firstly, to examine the effect of social support on life satisfaction and delinquency behaviour. Secondly, to examine the effects of life satisfaction on delinquency and drug abuse behaviour. Thirdly, to examine the effect delinquency on drug abuse behaviour. Fourthly, to examine the mediating role of life satisfaction on social support and delinquency relationship. The last objective is to examine the mediating role of delinquency on the relationship between life satisfaction and drug abuse behaviour. This study adopted a cross-sectional research design involving 350 drug abusers among youth at Malaysia cure and care rehabilitation centre (CCRC). Simple random sampling technique was used to select respondents from the sampling frame provided by the CCRC management. A selfadministered questionnaire was distributed to the respondents after pre- test and pilot test were conducted. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was employed to assess the multidimensionality, validity, and reliability of the constructs. Structural equation model (SEM) using the IBM SPSS AMOS 21.0 was applied to the dataset to test the proposed hypotheses. The finding of the study supported five out of seven proposed hypotheses. The study suggested that social support has a significant impact on life satisfaction but has no effect on delinquency. Life satisfaction has a direct effect on delinquency but has no direct effect on drug abuse behaviour. In addition, delinquency has a direct effect on drug-abuse behaviour. The study also discovered that life satisfaction fully mediated the relationship between social support and delinquency. Moreover, the findings also discovered that delinquency fully mediates the life satisfaction and drug-abuse behaviour relationship. The findings of this study contributed to theoretical and practical implications. The study uncovered a structural model that examines the relationships among social support, life satisfaction, delinquency, and drug-abuse behaviour. Several practical contributions were suggested to the CCRC management and government in the effort to reduce drug-abuse behaviour among youths. Future research should include other variables such as youth life skills and mental health which probably could explain more variance in drug-behaviour.
