In preliminary presumption of quality of academic teachers in Malaysia priorly presumes that all teachers are competence in teaching based on the degree of qualification. But issue on low international standard acheivement in TIMSS and PISA proves the low competencies level in academic teachers. Supported by local research shows that somes teachers might still uses of traditional lectures methods in teaching that makes students passive and hinder them from mastering soft skills in higher order thinking. Teachers should be more creative and informative in planning learning and teaching activities by applying centered learning as the latest method in 21st century to improves student performance as mentioned in the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025. This study is a benchmark for four proposed constructs; student academic performance, teacher competence in teaching and holistic-centered learning as well as SUMUR personality as factors contributing to excellent student performance (SP). Therefore, this study suggests a integration of two learning models, Multi intelligent model by Howard Gardner (1983) and Memletic Learning Styles model by Whitley (2003) as Holistic-centered Learning (HCL) during the classroom teaching and learning process. This study analysed the level of teacher teaching competence (TC) in planning practices, developing lesson plans and teaching outcomes. The effectiveness of the SUMUR at religious high schools in building moral character can also contribute to outstanding student performance (SP). This study used a quantitative research method with causal design involving respondents selected randomly which were grouped into 219 SPM teachers and 350 SPM students from 14 selected religious high schools in Terengganu state. The data were obtained by using questionnaire which was adapted from Murcia (2015) and data from SUMUR program module. Quantitative methods involve descriptive design and correlation study to determine the effects of variables and proposed mediators using the SEM AMOS analysis (Structure Equation Model). The measurement model in the study was significant with the level of fitness and convergence validity and discrimination achieved, hence this study concluded a research framework suggesting a structural model encompassing all five supported hypothesis. The SEM AMOS learning model can be used as a guide for teachers to improve the quality of learning outcomes of in the classroom. This study implies the holistic-centered learning style and teacher teaching competence and also SUMUR module as important factors for an effective learning and teaching process in enhancing student academic performance.
