It is due to the fact that it enhances job satisfaction, performance, and employee retention. It has been proven that high commitment leads to stability, growth, and improved performance in the banking industry in most countries. However, organizational commitment among Jordanian bank employees is moderate. Thus, studying and addressing this issue is essential. Hence, the objective of this study is, therefore, to empirically test the effect of organizational justice, organizational silence, negative affectivity, and burnout on the organizational commitment of the employees in the Jordanian banks' sector, which will lead to developing a model of organizational commitment. This study determined the mediating effect of burnout on the relationship between organizational justice and organizational commitment of the employees in the Jordanian banks' sector. This study also examined the mediating effect of burnout on the relationship between organizational silence and organizational commitment of the employees in the Jordanian banks sector. Lastly, the study investigated the mediating effect of burnout on the relationship between negative affectivity and organizational commitment of the employees in the Jordanian banks sector. The study employed quantitative method in collecting the data. The population of this study was the non-managerial employees in the Jordanian banks’ sector. 372 respondents were involved in this study. This study used a stratified sampling method. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire. The framework of the study was tested using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results revealed that organizational justice had a significant positive effect on organizational commitment in Jordanian banks. Organizational silence, negative affectivity and burnout also have a significant negative effect on organizational commitment. Moreover, organizational justice has a significant negative effect on burnout. Organizational silence and negative affectivity have a significant positive effect on burnout. In addition, the study revealed that the burnout partially mediates the relationship between organizational justice and organizational commitment. Burnout also partially mediates the relationship between organizational silence and organizational commitment. Finally, the burnout partially mediates the relationship between negative affectivity and organizational commitment. The results supported the earlier theories. This study has successfully accredited to the biopsychological theory of personality, social exchange theory, and person-job fit theory as the main theories in guiding the variables of organizational justice, organizational silence, negative affectivity, burnout, and organizational commitment.
