This subsequently leads to increased travelling activities with the inevitable generation of density, saturation, and congestion at a tourist site. It is inferred that this will bring detrimental impacts on the local community's quality of life and tourists' experiences through the lens of socio-culture, environment and economy. Such phenomenon is known as overtourism where it can be seen to beleaguer Cameron Highlands intensely. At the same time, it is argued that positive impacts derived from tourism would shape the local community’s resilience, and in turn, stabilize their overall quality of life. Based on this premise, this study aims to analyse the interrelationship between tripartite tourism impacts of socio-culture, environment and economy, and resilience and quality of life among the community of Cameron Highlands. A quantitative research design was applied where the questionnaire is self-administered to 294 local communities in Cameron Highlands through purposive sampling. Partial least square-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) is employed to assess the measurement model and test the hypothesis. It can be revealed that socio-cultural impact does not have any significant bearing on both community resilience and quality of life, while environmental impact only has a significant influence on the latter. Within this interrelationship, only economic impact has a significant influence on both community resilience and quality of life. This dynamic reflects the significant mediation effect of community resilience on economic impact and quality of life. The empirical verifications from this study are considered as crucial theoretical contributions to the tourism body of knowledge given the scarcity of research in the context of overtourism phenomenon in Malaysia. The findings generated from this study will also be an invaluable resource for the stakeholders to formulate tourism policies that are sustainable and protect the interest of the local community in Cameron Highlands.
