Specifically, this study was carried out to examine the influence of perceived leaders spiritual leadership on employees spiritual well-being and job satisfaction. Additionally, this study also examined the mediating role of employees spiritual well-being on the causal relationship between perceived leaders spiritual leadership and employees job satisfaction, and a difference in the perception of spiritual leadership by the age groups of the employees. A quantitative cross-sectional research design was adopted to address the questions of the study. The respondents were 390 full time employees of two privatised federal ports in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. A numeration of the entire population or census was used for data collection. The study employed a Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Structural Equation Modelling and lndependent Groups T{est to analyse the data. Based on the results of Structural Equation Modelling tests, perceived leaders spiritual leadership directly influenced employees spiritual well-being, and employees spiritual well-being directly influenced job satisfaction. lnterestingly, there was no direct influence of perceived spiritual leadership on job satisfaction but there was an indirect influence of perceived spiritual leadership on employees job satisfaction through their spiritual wellbeing. There was no difference found in the perception of spiritual leadership by the age groups of the employees. The findings of the study suggest that the employees who positively perceived their leaders spiritual leadership would have a more positive spiritual well-being and display a higher level of job satisfaction. The findings of this study have several important theoretical and practical implications. ln summary, the findings indicate that leaders should place a special focus on employees spiritual well-being to improve their job satisfaction. lt could be concluded that improving leaders spiritual leadership and employees spiritual well-being are crucial to improve the employees job satisfaction.
