Pertinently, the subjects of HRM practices and employee retention are increasingly being researched but the explored scope could be expanded further. Thus, this study examines the direct empirical relationship between human resource management practices and employee satisfaction among 336 employees in four telecommunication companies in Yemen, which are SabaFon, MTN Yemen, Y Telecom, and Yemen Mobile. Quantitative method using survey and stratified sampling method were used in this study. The target population of this study comprises employees working in telecommunication companies in Yemen, amounting to 2,198 employees. Based on Rao soft online software, the required sample size is 328 and researcher successfully received 336 completed responses. For data analysis and hypothesis testing, Structural equation modelling tool and several statistical methods such as the maximum likelihood estimate and regression technique were utilised to understand the dimensionality of the variables. Before the full data collection, the researcher checked the reliability and validity of the research model by conducting pre-testing and pilot testing analysis (EFA). The results showed that human resource recruitment and selection, compensation practices, training and development positively influenced leadership styles, while performance appraisal and working environment were found to have a negative effect on leadership styles. Regression results also indicated that human resource recruitment and selection, compensation practices, performance appraisal, working environment, training and development have a positive influence on employee’s satisfaction. Moreover, transactional and transformational leadership styles were found to be significant mediating factors in the relationship among training and development, human resource recruitment and selection and compensation practices, and employees’ satisfaction in telecommunication companies. Transactional and transformational leadership styles were found to be negative mediating factors in the relationship between performance appraisal and working environment and employees’ satisfaction in telecommunication companies. The relationship among leadership styles, human resource management practices, and employees’ satisfaction suggests that increasing the satisfaction level of employees may be beneficial to the management of telecommunication companies.
