However, ASMEs in Malaysia were found to face sustainability challenges with a high rate of withdrawal. The lack of sector-specific study and exclusion of non-financial performance measures are the reason for poor understanding of business sustainability among local policymakers, scholars and practitioners. Thus, this study is aimed to conduct a sector-specific study on (ASMEs) as an initial approach to identify factors that contribute to business performance in both financial and non-financial aspects. This study involved both qualitative and quantitative approaches to first construct and validate the instrument (questionnaire) and then, to identify the factors and rectify their pathway of influence to business performances among ASMEs. Firstly, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session was conducted with 11 local agribusiness practitioners to attain content validity of the questionnaire constructed. Then, a pilot study involving 30 business practitioners was conducted using the questionnaire to attain face validity. After appropriate amendments, face-to-face interview sessions were conducted among 297 ASMEs owners in six states, namely Terengganu, Perak, Selangor, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was administered on the collected data to attain construct validity. Lastly, a Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) was conducted to identify the pathway of influence of each factor’s on the business sustainability. As a result, seven factors, namely business passion and motivation, owner and business traits, business planning, organisational management, resource management, production and marketing management and business relationships were found to influence business performances among Malaysian ASMEs. However, only five factors significantly influence both financial and non-financial performances. In a nutshell, this study had revealed the factors that contribute to the business performance of Malaysian ASMEs and this finding is expected to boost more industry specific study to further rectify influence of these factors on SMEs in different agribusiness industries. 2019_Determinants of Malaysian Agribusiness Small Medium Enterprises’ (ASMES) Business Performance Agribusiness Dissertations, Academic Sila masukkan subject wajib Dissertations, Academic untuk semua tesis..
