Positive impacts of nursing informatics have been noted in various research studies. However, the exact implication on the quality of clinical nursing practice remains inadequately explored in Jordan. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of nursing informatics on the quality of clinical nursing care among Jordanian nurses in Amman, Jordan. A quantitative cross-sectional study design was used with a sample size of 256 clinical nurses who are working in three hospitals in Amman, Jordan. These hospitals were purposively included in this study because they already use the electronic health record (EHR) in healthcare facilities, while hospitals that do not use the EHR were excluded. Data was collected by using self-administered questionnaires that was developed by the researcher and piloted among a sample of participants outside Amman. The questionnaire included of demographic information’s, use of nursing informatics and the quality of nursing practice. Data analysis was based on descriptive statistics and linear regression using the SPSS version 26 and to determine the moderating effects, Structural Equation Model of SPSS-AMOS was used. A total of 256 complete responses were obtained, representing 100% turnout. Respondents (39.5%) expressed that nursing informatics improves information quality, 36.7% indicated that it increases satisfaction among the clinical nurses, and 31.6% expressed that it augments healthcare service quality. The respondents further expressed that nursing informatics ensures a quality of clinical nursing practice in clinical nursing care plan, use of nursing informatics, quality of patient care, clinical nurse’s competency and patient safety. Moreover, there was a statistically significant relationship between nursing informatics and quality of clinical nursing practice (β=.527; p=.001). The study also established that the clinical nurses’ level of education has a statistically significant moderating effect on the relationship between nursing informatics and quality of patient care (γ =.870; p=.001). Similarly, nurses’ level of education exhibited a statistically significant moderating effect on the relationship between nursing informatics and patient safety (γ =.65; p=.001). Also, there was a statistically significant effect of nursing informatics on the competency of clinical nurses (β=.547; p=.001). On the same note, nursing informatics had a statistically significant relationship between nursing informatics usage and education level (β=.261; p=.001). Finally, the study found that the usability of nursing informatics practice had a strong moderating effect on the relationship between nursing informatics and quality of nursing practice (γ =.790; p=.003). Nursing informatics plays a vital role in shaping the quality of nursing practice among clinical nurses. It significantly enhances nurses' competency and improves the quality of clinical nursing, particularly for those with higher education levels. The knowledge and understanding of nursing informatics contribute to the improvement of clinical nurses' competencies. Additionally, nursing informatics directly enhances the display of information andproves beneficial in administration, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare Services. Future research should explore diverse approaches to understand healthcare workers' views on adopting nursing informatics in healthcare facilities. There should be a focus on increasing awareness and encouraging the integration of healthcareinformatics into healthcare practices. Sila masukkan subject wajib Dissertations, Academic.
