Clonal chromosome aberrations were detected in all but one adenocarcinoma. Including our data, a total of 40 head and neck NSCCs with clonal aberrations have been described. Deletions of the long arm of chromosome 6 are the most common aberrations (11/40 cases); they have been detected in all types of NSCC except carcinoma in pleomorphic adenoma.
